In Home Renovation Trends 2022, Part 2, we give you 6 more ideas for inspiration as you make improvements to your home.
Safety First
Many households now have several generations under one roof, and that means accommodating aging family members. Therefore, homeowners are renovating to include “aging in place”, complete with roll-in showers, grab bars, and nonslip flooring.
With the threat of extreme weather in SW Florida, a whole-house generator may be the right option for your home. It provides energy to keep your appliances running, AC unit operating, power to a sump pump and medical devices.
Improving your indoor air quality with an air purifier will also give you peace of mind your family is breathing cleaner air free of pollutants, especially those in your household suffering from respiratory issues.
Home Renovation Trends 2022, Part 2: Textures In Design
Texture adds a feeling of warmth to the home, and is far more interesting than painted walls, adding dimension and visual interest. For example, homeowners are opting for using a faux finish to mimic a brick wall, concrete or marble.
Trade In Neutral
According to Design experts, homeowners decided it was time for a change during the pandemic. Neutral colors, like gray, are being traded for warmer, earthy tones like cream or taupe.
In addition, Pantone has introduced their color of the year, “Very Peri,” a periwinkle blue hue with a violet-red undertone. This color represents the happiest and warmest of all the blue hues, symbolizing transition and new possibilities.
Look for shades of green to make a pop in 2022. Benjamin Moore’s choice is “October Mist,” Sherwin-Williams’ is “Evergreen Fog” and Dutch Boy opted for “Cypress Garden.”
All are very similar and follow a trend towards various hues of green. Even Etsy has named its color of the year to be “Emerald Green.”

Spa-Inspired Bath
Who doesn’t love a spa day?
Many homeowners are bringing the feeling of a spa to their own home by renovating to add a jacuzzi, bamboo cabinets, upgraded vanities, and stone shower floors to their baths.
Mudrooms
Mudrooms continue to remain popular.
Also called “drop zones”, these areas offer ample amounts of storage, deep sinks or washing stations for pets, and dedicated charging stations for our never-ending collection of electronics.

Home Renovation Trends 2022, Part 2: Metal Roof
A metal roof can lower your energy costs, provide protection in bad weather, and look very stylish. Made from recycled materials with a lifespan of 40-70 years, metal roofs reduce the impact on the environment by using long-lasting, sustainable materials.
Metal roofing is also fire-resistant, secure and durable, keeping your home watertight and safe during high winds, thunderstorms, hail, and even hurricanes.
